Today Central Church celebrated missions Sunday. 129 people representing 11 short term mission trips to 9 countries on 4 continents were recognized in the morning services. Why would 129 people leave the comfort of Collierville, Tennessee to travel to far away places? They did not do it for self recognition, but to bring glory to God. Pastor Frey took us on a whirlwind tour through the Bible from Genesis to Peter to show us God's intent for us. We were created to bring glory to Him. God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others. We were challenged to begin living like a missionary this week, and to start by noticing the people in our life. This week we are missionaries to our neighbors, friends, and coworkers.
Take time this week to be intentional in your relationship with others, reflect the love of Jesus to those you encounter.

" If you want to be perfect"
In Mathew 19, Jesus told the rich young man, " If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
That word perfect in the text would imply full development, growth into maturity. The young man was not at that point yet, even though he saw himself as a good person that kept the laws, Jesus let him know that was not enough.
Are you there?
Are you willing to give it up for Jesus?
Is He saying we have to give everything away?
I don't think so.... I believe Jesus knew that the young man loved his wealth more than he loved God.
What do you put above God? What would Jesus ask you to give up?
God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others.

What is Hope?
In our world today, hope is a verb, an action, defined as “a desire or wish”. Something we “hope” will happen. The hope that we have in God is a noun; it’s a possession and is used as a noun in the Bible many times. "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jer 29:11) and “My hope comes from the Him” (Ps 62:5). It’s nothing we have to wish will come true, we just have to accept the gift. Hope is the truth that we have an eternity in heaven with God at the end of this life. Being filled with God’s hope shows all those around you that you know how this story ends – and you’re excited about it!
