Open Doors

As the time of our departure to Guatemala draws nearer, we find ourselves facing some "last times". Wednesday night was one of those as I was able to participate in Kidz Central, for the last time. The virtue this month is HOPE - believing that something good can come out of something bad.
Our human nature never wants to abandon what has become comfortable or familiar to us. That may be our routine, or people we are used to seeing, or even our surroundings. I remember as a child my family moved several times during my elementary school years and that was really devastating to me. It seemed like every time I became comfortable we changed schools.
Now I find myself having worked nearly 17 years at the same company, at the same church for 15 years, getting ready to go into a different culture, language, and life style. This is all of Gods doing and we look forward to what he has in store for us.
I am thankful for our Pastor and his family as they step out in faith to return to the mission field. I know that God used Pastor Frey to stir up the missionary heart inside my family. Just another piece of the puzzle that is not left to coincidence, but is intentionally placed by the hand of God.
Dear friends and family, please don't see us leaving as a bad thing. Our time together was only a small piece of the puzzle in Gods big picture of all of our lives. I know that each and every encounter I have had with you have been in preparation for something bigger God has planned for me and you. So, we must keep our eyes, ears and hearts open to what God has in store for us.

I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. (Revelation 3:8 NIV)

  1. We are so excited to see what God is doing in your hearts and look forward to following and supporting your family. Just as God has used you here, He will use you in Guatemala to accomplish His work. God has big plans for the Dixons!
