Update

The Dixon family arrived safely in Guatemala last Saturday 6/16. We have not settled into our home, but we are settling in to some of our duties. We escorted teams from the airport to the lake Saturday and spent the day with them today. This evening we all attend worship at a small church in San Pedro, that is always an awesome experience. Tomorrow the teams will begin their construction projects, we will take care of some things at our house and then join back up with them at lunch.
We appreciate all your prayers and we will check in again soon!
God Bless!

Our "REBAR"

The photo above, I use as wallpaper on my computer. It reminds me of something we often see in Guatemala, bricks being reinforced with rebar. The people surrounding us praying for us and all those we leave here at home that are supporting us, praying for us and have helped us prepare for this journey, are our "REBAR". Without all of you we would be like the bricks on the bottom, ready to crumble and fall. 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
We appreciate your friendship, support, and especially your prayers as we spend one final night in North America. We pray for the other families that are preparing to go out and we pray for the summer teams that God would use us all in ways we cannot imagine. We also pray for the Church that meets at Central, that God would identify and make known the man that will occupy the pulpit, that Central will continue to grow as a missionary church, and that those that occupy the seats at Central would understand that this building is a placed to be renewed and refuel, for them to take what they hear outside of those walls. I pray that we all become people that: "love God, love others, and make disciples".
God Bless you all! We love you!

Thank You

For most of the past month we have relied on the kindness and hospitality of our friends for many different things. Just a short list includes; hosting a very large garage sale, use of vehicles, place to sleep, and of course continued commitments of financial support. All of this. I believe is part of our growth as we have always been pretty independent and maybe to prideful to accept the assistance of others. We were always willing to help others but would not dare ask for help ourselves. I was reminded by a friend that loaned us a vehicle, that God does bless us to be a blessing to others. I remember a comment from another person, when we turn down a offer of help, it is turning down a blessing from God. So, I thank God for all of you, I thank you for sharing your blessing, and I thank you for giving sacrificially.
